Sad video: 9 year old boy slaps the heck out of his mum after finding her high on heroine on the street
A 9 year boy who found his mum high on heroine on the street, slapped the shit out her in a shocking video that was posted on instagram. The distraught little boy can be heard screaming "mummy, wake up. Can you talk to me? Wake up" while the woman stares blankly at him, making him slap her again and again. Feel so sad for the child. With a mum like this, he's probably raising himself. He shouldn't have hit her like that but I can understand his frustration
Do you agree that Kim K and Beyonce have revolutionized our generation's view of what beautiful is?
Speaking with Access Hollywood last week, actress and singer Demi Lovato, 22, said Kim K and Beyoncé's famous curves have helped refine beauty and made a whole generation of women see it is not all about being skinny, making it easier for women these days to accept and embrace their full figures. "When I was growing up and when I was a pre-teen, the people that I had to look up to for body image were extremely underweight. They were all very bony at that time and that was the in thing. 'I really credit women like Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian, they completely revolutionized what our generation's view of perception of what beautiful is and I really think that they had a huge impact on that." Demi said. You agree?

I never went to university' - billionaire Folorunsho Alakija admits
ne of Africa's richest women and chairman of Famfa Oil, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija yesterday August 27th revealed that she never went to a university, saying one does not need a university education to make it in life. Mrs Alakija said this while speaking with students of the University of Lagos during the 2014 UN International Youths Day in Lagos.
"I come from Ikorodu, Lagos state. I am married to a dashing young lawyer of 70 years of age and we have four grown up gentlemen and grandchildren. It has not been a rag to riches fairytale. It has not been an overnight phenomenon like some cases which you find here and there all over the world. For as long as I can remember, I had always wanted my own business. Hard work...am trying to tell you how I got to where I am if you want those billions. Hard work, diligence, persistence...days where you nearly gave up but I chose not to give up." Continue...
It would have been easy to compromise but I chose not to and I stayed focus. I could have stayed a secretary as my father desired according to his plan for me but I had bigger aspirations. I dreamt big. God strengthened me and gave me wisdom. I had a passion and burning desire to succeed. Being a secretary, a banker, a fashion icon, a cooperate promoter and printer, a real estate owner, an oil magnate, that I can assure you was no easy feat. Firm belief that what is worth doing is what doing well or not doing at all. I took charge of my life with the tools I have shared with you. I chose to become born again at the age of 40. I chose to make a covenant with God that if he would bless me I would work for him all the days of my life. I chose to hold on to the cross and look up to him every step of the way. Today additional accomplishment includes a wife of almost 40 years, a mother, grandmother, ministry, counseling, outreach, NGO Rose of Sharon Foundation for widows and Author, writer, author of several inspirational books. All I say to the glory of God. So I am 63 and I am not yet done. So what is your excuse? I never went to a University and I am proud to say so because I don't think I have done too badly. You do not have to have a University education to be able to make it so count yourselves privileged to have that education as part of the feather in your cap" she said.

SINGLE AND MARRIED NOLLYWOOD ACTRESSES SLEEP AROUND – BLESSING EGBE
It isn’t really clear what prompted Blessing to take to twitter recently to vent her frustration over what she considered as the promiscuous and wanton ways actresses conduct themselves these days. According to the Vow and After the Vow producer, most actresses sleep around for fame, roles and for the simple reason of just getting paid. In several of her tweets, she not only stated as an opinion she did so like an expert dissecting a situation she is very much at home with:
“How desperate can one be in pursuit of fame and money? In the end, where will you end up? In hell or in heaven? Not all who call God are true. Sad!” she observed wryly. Then followed up more tersely, “ Single and married women sleeping with countless men to climb to the top! Please when you get there, what next please? Vanity, vanity, vanity Some say the competition is too stiff and must do the uncanny to stay abreast.
Please if you don’t have anything to offer, go and sell recharged cards. People now put all artistes under same umbrella. We are not respected because of some greedy, talent-less lot who flood the industry. Husbands skip a heartbeat whenever their wives are on location because of the dirt that goes on. Orgies in hotel rooms involving married couple. Acting is now the gateway to prostitution. People will do anything to have their faces on the screen because ‘market go come and true true market plenty’” she declared.
But more thought-provoking than her declarations are the intentions behind them. People have been wondering what got into Blessing.
[2015: NORTH VS SOUTH (1): INEC GIVES NORTH FRESH ADVANTAGE]
In what many are describing as a gambit with the potential for dangerous and unimaginable consequences, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, led by Professor Attahiru Jega, may have set itself up for opprobrium from a section of the Nigerian nation. Its recently announced 30,000 new Polling Units, PUs, has been distributed across the country. Yet, in a curious twist of logic, the cleaning of the Voter Register, VR, which has seen many states in the northern part of Nigeria lose ‘GHOST VOTERS’ in their millions, have been allocated a whopping 21,615 (twenty one thousand, six hundred and fifteen) PUs, as against a meagrely 8,412 (eight thousand, four hundred and twelve).
This exclusive report brings out the dangerous game of political conspiracy that has been on at INEC and which Sunday Vanguard has carefully followed in the last two years. The findings are mind-boggling as there are cogent and verifiable reasons to suggest that the ever acrimonious North/South dichotomy may have become a guiding principle of administrative philosophy at INEC, a philosophy that may at once pour cold water on the hard-earned integrity of Jega. Therefore, how this academic of international repute got himself into this bind remains confounding.
GENERALLY
The devil is in the details. On paper, the provision and allocation of new Polling Units, PUs numbering over 30,000, may be desirable – at least in the light of the congestion at polling stations during the 2011 general elections. But this provision is only desirable in so far as it reflects the realities on ground.
What has happened, however, is that Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, led by Professor Attahiru Jega, has insinuated itself into a dangerous political game which defies simple logic. After carrying out a cleaning exercise to sanitise the Voter Register, VR, an exercise which has reduced the total number of validly registered voters in the country, the selfsame INEC has gone ahead to allocate its new 30,000 PUs in such a manner that some states that had already lost so much to ghost registration still ended up getting more PUs

Omotola shares her success story, talks about being scandal-free
In this exclusive interview with Sunday Sun, award winning actress, singer & Amnesty International activist Omotola Jalade Ekeinde talks about her fears, being scandal-free and also shares her success story. Find excerpts from the interview below... Can you give us tips on how to be a successful woman? It actually starts with character, personality and what beliefs. Everything wrong today actually started from the content of a character. Are you immoral or are you straight forward enough to actually say something and carry through with it. Is the content of your character strong enough? I believe that for you to be great in anything, you have to be someone anyone can trust.you believe in. It stems from your moral. Continue... Can you define what success means to you? I think success is when God is happy with you. When the closest people around you are happy with you and when your soul is at peace with you. Looking back, what has been your greatest achievement? I have so many great achievements and I am very grateful to God. I can talk about great achievements today because God has empowered me to build my character. At no point did I see all these coming. I never said, ‘let me start being a good girl so that in the future, they will call me to speak, not only on Nollywood but also in mentorship capacity outside Nollywood’. I never said ‘okay, let me be a good girl so that Time magazine will make me a Time 100 woman’; I never thought about all these things. But by God`s grace, I am here today. He taught me to follow a particular life pattern when I was young. And I am grateful that pattern has brought me this far. My greatest achievement is that I got to know God on time; it was a great privilege. Do you ever cry? Yes, I am an actress and I cry all the time. Could you share with us your fears and something that has made you cry lately?

The raiders killed 28 residents and burned scores of homes, according to residents. The hostages were loaded onto motorboats and ferried into neighboring Chad, with residents saying they feared the hostages would be forcefully conscripted as foot soldiers. Chadian security officials reported intercepting a convoy of buses carrying 85 Nigerians" believed to have been kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists from Baga," a Nigerian security source said. "The convoy being led by six Boko Haram gunmen was stopped on the Chadian part of the border along Lake Chad for routine checks and the huge number in the convoy raised suspicion," said the source, who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to speak on the issue. An official of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Maiduguri confirmed the rescue of the 63 male and 22 female hostages. The source, who asked that his name not be used, said more than 30 hostages were still being held by Boko Haram. He said their captors sped off with them in motorboats when they spotted the convoy being questioned by Chadian soldiers. Boko Haram has been waging a five-year armed insurgency to create an Islamic state in northern Nigeria. The group has carried out series of abductions, including the April kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls from a boarding school in the town of Chibok. Boko Haram uses its hostages as conscripts and sex slaves, according to authorities. They say Boko Haram has killed more than 12,000 people and displaced more than half a million residents..
