Suswan Laments Growing Crime Rate In Makurdi Of Benue State

Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State at the weekend decried what he called the growing crime rate in Makurdi metropolis, charging the police to do something about it. Suswam, while commissioning the radio network integration system and generators at the police command’s headquarters in Makurdi, called for collaboration to reduce criminal activities in the state. The governor, who lamented that criminals now lurk around strategic positions to snatch peoples’ phones and other valuables, appealed to the state Commissioner of Police, Adams Audu and all DPOs to step up. “I appeal to the commissioner and DPOs to check the rampant snatching of phones and return of criminality in parts of the state. As we approach the election period, there is need to take deliberate steps to stem the tide of criminality in the state so that criminals do not take us for granted. We need to reduce criminals in our society,” he said.
