Boko Haram Takes over Nigerian Army Military Camps In three Yobe State Towns

TERRORIST sect Boko Haram has taken over the control of military camps which used to belong to the Nigerian Army in three towns in three towns in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State. In a brazen show of force,
highlighting the fact that the terrorists have the upper hand in their ongoing battle with the Nigerian military, Boko Haram are continuing to operate with total impunity across large swathes of the northeast.
Earlier this week, they took control of the military camps in Buni Yadi, Buni Gari and Goniri towns in Yobe State. In addition, the terrorist sect bombed the Katarko Bridge in the area, temporarily cutting off both vehicular and human movement between Buni Yadi and Damaturu, the Yobe State capital. Daring travellers who want to visit the area now have to break their journey by crossing the River Katarko to join a waiting vehicle to Buni Yadi or Buni Gari. One local resident who rode on a bicycle to Damaturu from the area, said that Boko Haram insurgents now move freely in the area brandishing their guns and weapons. He added that the insurgents are now occupying locations that were previously manned by military in the area. “I am just coming from Buni Yadi. I came with my bicycle all the way to this place and did not use any bush path as I followed the main road. “We are facing a very terrible situation as there is no single security in our area and the same is the case in Buni Gari and Goniri. In fact Boko Haram taken over the military camps in the areas," he added. According to one top security source Nigerian troops are located at Katarko, some 22km from Damaturu and 34km from Buni Yadi. Yobe State Ministry of Works officials who recently went to inspect the damaged bridge who narrowly escaped death as the Boko Haram insurgents opened fire on them, forcing them to flee.
